You Mean Sunscreen Isn't Just For Babies
Okay mamas, apparently I've been living under a rock because I just learned something new about skincare, specifically daily care. Upon my most recent (and first ever) appointment to a skin scare specialist they asked what I use to care for my skin daily. Thinking I was doing a pretty good job, I answered... I wash my face with water, and then massage on a locally made, organic, essential oils blend. And to that I was met with a wide-eyed GASP.
I explained to them, with 3 kids, making sure they're fed, dressed, packed up and all ready for their day, the minimal time I have in the morning is of the essence. My consultant got it, and told me she's a mother as well, but apparently it's imperative for skin care (not just anti-aging) to put sunscreen on our face daily. Even in rainy Vancouver, it's a must. (Who knew, I sure didn't.)

My priority was to make sure I always remembered to put sunscreen on the kids, but as what usually happens to us mamas, we forget to take care of ourselves. So with that I'm making it a part of my daily morning ritual to spend 2 minutes on my face to add that little extra sun protection, even more so now that the sunshine is actually making its appearance on those Summer days.
So what brands are best? What works for sensitive skin? What lathers on smoothly? Which ones are all natural? For that, what better way to find answers then with veteran mamas. Tried, tested + true. See the next post for more info on some mama sunscreen favourites.
