Pretty Little Flower Wall

What is your name + how many kids do you have/how old
My name is Sharon Vicera, I have two daughters, ages 4 & 2

What is life with a newborn really like, the good, the bad + the ugly
Life with a newborn, it was a special milestone in my life, being a mom and having a baby was everything I ever wanted. Looking back it was a learning experience for me, it was real. You don’t sleep, it’s hard to tell what they want or need. Laundry had to be done, cooking... cleaning... and the pumping, it was exhausting. In reality, you just do it. Of course, it never hurts to develop a few coping mechanisms—you may still feel like a hot mess some days but you’ll make it through!

What is at least one challenge you faced with babies or motherhood that you weren't expecting
I did not expect it to be as hard to be honest. No one told me it was going to be a tough job, the no sleep part for the first two months was a challenge for me, especially having to get up in the middle of the night, trying to stay awake while feeding.

How did you survive
I was very fortunate to have had a great support system. My boyfriend, my family, his family, and friends were always there to help. I went out as much as possible, I watched my favourite shows on TV. Boyfriend cooked for me and fed me all of my favourite food lol.

What is one piece of advice you'd give to new or expecting mamas
A little more than one piece of advice: It’s all going to be OK. It’s ok to be tired. It’s ok to cry. It’s ok to make mistakes. It’s ok to put your crying baby down and take a moment for yourself to breathe. Try to sleep when your baby sleeps. You are going to get a lot of advice; so just listen politely, smile, nod and then do what YOU think is best for you and your baby.

Stay calm when things get challenging. Remind yourself that the stressful times are phases that will pass as well. You’ve got this. Don’t compare yourself to others. Even the best parents in the world don’t have a manual. Sometimes we are all just winging it!

Ask for help and accept all the help you can get, and don’t try to do it all on your own. Try to take it easy, share the good stuff AND the bad stuff with other mamas so that we can all feel normal, and know that once you get through the first two months of nursing it gets 75 percent easier! Soak up every moment.

Treasure all of the cute, sweet moments and phases. Have fun with your kids! Laugh with them and play with them. Children remember having fun more than they remember having things.

How did the passion come about to create Pretty Little Flower Wall
As a child, I have always had a creative passion for art. I was part of the young designers group in elementary school at age 10. Growing up I loved fashion as well. Creative direction and meticulous attention to detail all came natural to me. Creativity is where my heart lies, and I am proud to bring this life long focus to Pretty Little Flower Wall along side my dedicated team.

How do you treat yourself to some "you time"
“Me time” could range from a day at home in bed, doing absolutely nothing, relaxing, sometimes catching up on things I need to get done, give my dogs a good back scratch, to going out for the day, get my hair and nails done, have a nice dinner with my sisters and best friends.
