Mom Crush: Rebecca Amare
Let’s face it… mamas rock. And we want to meet as many of you as possible, share stories of what you’re up to, and spread the mama love. We want to start conversations + build communities with the mamas who inspire, who create their own rules, who have big heart, no ego, and support other womxn + mothers on their journey.
Enter Rebecca Amare, mother to one of the sweetest 5 year old girls. We’ve got nothing but West Coast love for this East Coast mama. And we got to chat with her about mom life, balance (defined in terms that work for yourself), daily rituals, and more.
Balance (for me) is finding a way to do the things I need to, and attach them to things I want to do.
What does “balance” look like for you
Balance is - finding a way to do the things I need to, and attach them to things I want to do. For example: I need to workout, so I teach at a place I love. I want to see my friends, they come workout, and we go for drinks after. I turn my day job into this amazingly fun place I love going to. If I need to spend one on one time with my daughter, she’s going to run errands with me and we’ll end up at my friend’s house and with kids. That’s my secret to balance.
What’s at least one of your favourite daily rituals
Can’t live without my morning coffee… I mean, I am Ethiopian, the birth place of the coffee bean ;)
Something you know now, that you wish you knew before you became a mama
I wish someone told me that breastfeeding would be worst than labour. 😖 Hell of a month that was, I cried every day. (Worth it, but wish I knew what was coming, haha).
