I find writing in the heat of the moment gives you access to raw, unfiltered emotion + experience. That being said, it's a Tuesday night... The week is just starting and I'm already "tired AF". But really, that's not any different then what all my mamas are experiencing around the world, can I get an amen?
Meals usually happen on the go
Smoothies are my favourite go to!
Myself and a couple other awesome ladies hosted an evening with a certified Sex Doctor one evening in Spring, and there was one thing that really stood out for me (among a lot of other things) and it was that women wear multiple hats. I know, this is not something new, but it really hit home in a clear and concise manner.
Mamas aren't only mamas. We are wives, girlfriends, chauffeurs, volunteers, school helpers, personal shoppers, grocery shoppers, cooks, early risers, late to bed-ers, a shoulder to cry on, a person who cries, social organizer, calendar keeper, birthday gift giver, party planner, date night provider, financial advisor, bill payer, entrepreneur, hard worker, initiative taker, extra curricular activity maker, love maker and more. There are only 24 hours in a day, and we are awake and easily jam packing 19 hours of the day, if not more.
Some are juggling multiple children, newborns, new jobs, old jobs, multiple jobs, new entrepreneurships, the list goes on... and on, and on. The point of this blog post (errr, rant ;) is just a little reminder to take some time out for you. You are the anchor to this family unit, and you have to make sure you are not running on empty (even a little of gas can get you a long distance). Take a breath, have a stroll outside, enjoy a sweat-filled workout class, have a delicious dinner and cocktail with girlfriends, put the kids to bed early and watch your favourite Netflix guilty pleasure or take a quick power nap (one can wish). Whatever it is you choose to do, fill yourself up. Savour the moment, and reset.
Okay, so I guess I didn't really have anything new to share here, but reaching out to all my "Tired AF" mamas and women, I'm with ya! And we all know no matter how tired, it's always worth it. I tuck my 3 kids into bed, sigh on the couch and get ready to do some work, and then miss the kids until the morning time. Funny little cycle isn't it. So cheers to the mamas, the women, the moves + the shakers, the early risers, the late sleepers, the caretakers, the love providers, the ones who rule the world and are raising the future.
And when it happens my kids snap photos.
